When entering this space your eyes are drawn to the dark wood on the stairs and the matching cabinets in the kitchen making the hallway seem long and narrow. Both the unmatched floor surfaces and the pony walls visually cut up the space even more.
As you can see in the photograph at the top of this page [which is the 'after" of the space above] the removal of the pony walls was an improvement and the addition of hardwood floors provided the final touch. Because the kitchen cabinets are now white, your view is drawn out to the full width of the room adjoining the hallway.
This kitchen was in good shape, but dated, and not what today's buyers want.
Had we been renovating this kitchen for a long term homeowner we would likely have replaced the cabinets with ones that went to the ceiling. But since this was meant to update the home to sell faster and for more money we took the less expensive route and just painted the cabinets and installed updated handles.
This kitchen is right out of the 70s or 80s along with the wallpaper.
A wider island was installed with higher quality surfaces . Elegant lights were installed over the island upgrading the look of entire kitchen. More modern chairs and stools were added.
We are currently preparing more project photos to be added to the site. Check back or if you need to see more immediately please don't hesitate to call Liz on her cell at (760) 455-9028.
